The Puget Sound Grand Banks Owners Association joins the maritime community in mourning the passing of Bob Smith, founder of American Diesel Corp, and a truly legendary figure in the maritime community.  From Brian Pemberton, President of PSGBOA:

“Sad news at the passing of Bob Smith. Bob was the engineer who designed and oversaw the production of the Ford Lehman engines. For many years they were the standard for most Grand Banks. For many years Bob was a regular speaker at the PSGBOA Rendezvous bringing engines to run at the show and use as teaching aids. Bob was the unofficial historian of Grand Banks and more than once gave presentations on the history of Grand Banks. We will miss Bob.”

Bob Smith joined PSGBOA at many Grand Banks Rendezvous here in the Pacific Northwest over the years. Rendezvous attendees greatly enjoyed his incredible knowledge base and willingness to listen and answer questions.  We will miss Bob!

Save the date! The PSGBOA Grand Banks Rendezvous is May 10th-14th at Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island. Join a bevy of Grand Banks owners at the biggest GB gathering in the U.S.!

The theme for this year’s Rendezvous is “Endless Summer” – it’s time to celebrate all of the wonderful things we love about Summer in the Northwest (especially boating!).

We hope you will join us at this year’s Rendezvous – from seminars, to hands-on activities, to social events with delicious food and drinks… there’s plenty to do at a PSGBOA Rendezvous! Of course the best part is catching up with old friends and making new ones – and checking out all the cool things people have done with THEIR Grand Banks!

The ORIGINAL Endless Summer – we may not have a lot of surfing but we love our Summers in the Northwest!

Good news for those GB owners looking for Grand Banks-branded apparel and hats! PSGBOA Member J.J. Jones has worked with Bergen and Company to help put together a selection of GB-branded items. Getting an ‘official’ ship store in place is still in progress, but you can contact Bobbi at Bergen and Company and she will help you with currently available selections.
