Friday Rendezvous Update

Happy Friday everyone. Rusty here again with your Friday Rendezvous update.

First, two important dates. Early Bird registration ends April 15th. Register before the 15th and save a few dollars. Registration closes April 29thClick here to visit the registration form. See below for more info.

The always popular Women on the Water trainings sponsored by Northwest Explorations are filling up fast. Reserve your spot now. Your $20 donation goes to the Orca Network this year.

So let’s talk food …

  • Our welcome dinner Thursday night is catered by Roche Harbor and takes place in their banquet facility. Chef Shaw has created a great menu for us this year.
  • Lunch Friday is a BBQ on the docks. Burgers, brats, veggie burgers, and chicken sausages along with all the fixings are on the menu cooked by our own volunteer grill masters. If you are a grillmaster, let us know – we will put you to work. 😉
  • Our beer and cider tasting is Friday afternoon along with the sponsor fair. I count this as food because we will have mixed nuts too. And cider is fruit, right?
  • Saturday’s dinner is a potluck. We provide the ham, you bring the sides and the salads. Live music from the Dangerfields will follow.
  • The always popular Roche Harbor doughnuts will magically appear each morning on the docks. Yum!

Are you a grillmaster? This could be you!

Roche Harbor gives us a free night Wednesday for those staying to Sunday. Don’t miss out on your free night – join us Wednesday.

A big, big thank you to our sponsors. We could not put on this event without their generosity and support! Please think of them first when you need help with your boat.

Rendezvous Update

Greetings and happy Saturday! This is a quick Rendezvous update. It’s still a bit early for the Rendezvous committee to have the details sorted out, but rest assured, we are working tirelessly to make this another great event. Here is what we know so far.

The Rendezvous begins with early arrival Wednesday, May 6th and concludes Sunday the 10th. This is the 25th anniversary of our Rendezvous at Roche Harbor and the 250th anniversary of the United States. We expect to see many old friends and make new friends this year at the largest Grand Banks Rendezvous in the world (at least as far as we know. 😉) Rendezvous registration will be live on or about March 18th.

We asked for feedback after the rendezvous last year. Thank you all for responding to our survey. The feedback we received is very helpful to our planning process.

The Rendezvous will follow the same general format we have come to expect each year. Popular events like Women on the Water, vessel safety inspections, interesting and informative seminars, and fresh doughnuts will be back. We are working with long time sponsors and a few new ones too. I am going to go out on a limb and say we are expecting a special guest from the east coast this year.

Expect to see more from us as we get closer to registration and the Rendezvous. We will also update this website at https://psgbowners.org with all information as we sort out the details. If you have not attended the Rendezvous in the past, the postings from last year’s event will give you a good idea of what to expect at our annual Rendezvous. It is a great event at a wonderful location and we look forward to seeing you there.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us at rendezvous@psgbowners.org with questions, comments, suggestions, and ideas.

More to come soon …

Highlights from the 2025 Rendezvous at Roche Harbor

We had a great time at this year’s Rendezvous. Once again, it was beautiful at Roche Harbor. The weather cooperated nicely. The folks at Roche Harbor were great again this year too.

Thank you again to all who attended and special thank you’s to our Rendezvous sponsors. Their generous contributions in money and time are what make the Rendezvous possible.

It is Time! Registration Opens Tuesday

Happy Saturday! It’s Rusty again. Registration for the 2025 Grand Banks Rendezvous opens Tuesday the 18th. It is going to be a great Rendezvous. See the registration form on Tuesday for complete details.

The Rendezvous is May 7-11 at the beautiful Roche Harbor Resort. Activities begin Thursday morning.

The generosity and support from our sponsors has allowed us to LOWER the cost of this year’s event. The cost per boat is $200 — $55 less than last year.

Roche Harbor is providing free moorage Wednesday night for folks who would like to arrive early and stay through Saturday night. Registration fees do not include moorage costs. Those will be payable directly to Roche Harbor upon arrival. We will make the moorage reservations for all Rendezvous attendee’s again this year. You do NOT need to call Roche and make a moorage reservation.

Our dinner will be Thursday evening. This worked well last year and helps to reduce the overall event cost.

The Chef Shaw cooking event will not take place this year. Unfortunately, Chef Shaw will be out of town while we are there. We are replacing it with a burger/brat BBQ event provided by the association at no additional cost for attendees. Thank you again to our sponsors!

Northwest Explorations is graciously providing training captains and a boat for the very popular two hour Women on the Water boat handling courses. This is a hands on course. The trainings fill quickly so register early to reserve your spot.

Join us for a great weekend of seminars, stories, food, fun, friends, and more. We have requested beautiful weather and another spectacular Northern Lights display just like last year. We hope to see all of you at the 2025 Rendezvous at Roche!

You will receive an e-mail Tuesday morning with the link to register.

(sorry, we can’t publish the link until we have the form complete and tested. That’s just the way the software works. You get what you pay for.)

Thank you again to our sponsors – We couldn’t do this without their generous support.

2024 Rendezvous Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for our 2024 PSGBOA Rendezvous happening at Roche Harbor, May 9-12. We recommend you arrive a day early on Wednesday, May 8 to take advantage of complimentary moorage that day, courtesy of Roche Harbor Marina. We’ll be meeting on the dock for an informal happy hour to get everyone acquainted before starting in earnest first thing Thursday morning.

It will be hard to surpass last year’s event and especially the glorious weather, but please join us in trying to do just that! Due to popular demand, we’re Keeping It Simple Sailor again! You can expect the usual benefits of our  informative and educational seminars with some past and new speakers. Fresh Lime Kiln Cafe donuts will be there, too! This year, we’re including a general interest presentation you won’t want to miss. It’s sure to delight all attendees! Join the fun, mingle and share sea stories, meet our new GB owners and new attendees, dine on Thursday’s delectable Welcome Dinner in the pavilion, sign up for Chef Shaw’s Cooking Demonstration, engage with our generous sponsors while beer and cider tasting, enjoy Roche Harbor and all it has to offer as well as take a trip to Friday Harbor, if desired. Our popular “Women On the Water” (WOW) training program is back again this year, courtesy of NW Explorations. Lastly, spend an early Saturday evening mingling with members under the big tent, all while enjoying heavy potluck appetizers, followed by rivalry and revelry. Yes! rivalry and revelry!

This year, PSGBOA will take your boat moorage information during the registration process.  We will directly communicate your expressed moorage needs to Roche Harbor Marina so you don’t have to. Simple.
