PSGBO headed for Alaska, come along!

SLOW BOAT CRUISE TO SE ALASKA THIS SUMMER 2011!

Lin and Maryke Hines of M/V Wandrian, a 1962 American Marine (Grand Banks) 35′ Chanteyman Pilothouse trawler is planning to cruise to SE Alaska as far as Glacier Bay this summer. We made it to the top of the Broughton’s last summer and loved it! Looking for another boat or boats, hopefully with Alaska Cruise experience, to cruise with us. We’ve completely rebuilt and repowered our boat in the past 3 years. We cruise at 7-7.5 knots and 6-7 hours a day is comfortable.

We live in Olympia and are members of the Olympia Yacht Club. We will be ready to leave in mid-May right after the PSGBOA Rendezvous in Roche Harbor and return to Puget Sound by August 20. Let’s get together and talk about it.

2011 MAY RENDEZVOUS UPDATE

Hello to all PSGBOA Members,

As I sit in my office Saturday afternoon the sun is finally out and the 2011 Rendezvous is just around the corner. I am very excited for this year’s event, I believe we have a great line up of speakers and there should be something for everyone. I will be posting a schedule for you to view in the next few days on the website . As far as speakers go Bob Smith, Peggy Hall, Bill Davis, Bryon Richards and Nobeltec – just to name a few.

Friday morning we will start off with coffee and donuts on the party barge to kick off the whole weekend. Friday night we will have our wine tasting party along withhors d’oeuvres. Please remember to write a recipe card for anyone that might have food allergies.

If anyone has a favorite type of wine they would like to taste, please let me know and I will try to make it happen. Friday night we will also have movie night for the young and youngat heart, we will be playing Pirates of the Caribbean starting at 7:30 pm down in the tent area with popcorn and root beer.

Saturday we will again begin with coffee and donuts in the morning on the party barge. There is a full day of speakers on the agenda. Please don’tforget to sign up for Chef Shaw’s cooking demo, this starts at 1pm on Saturday. This year’s theme is: “barbequing on the boat” and is well worth attending, only 75 spots available. Saturday night is the Dinner and Drinks
starting at 6 pm. We will also introduce next year’s board members toeveryone.
I would like to add one more item, Bill Davis and Tucker West worked very hard this year gathering sponsors. Our sponsors are a very important part of the rendezvous. They help keep costs down and add extra events like coffee and donuts on Friday and Saturday mornings. In saying that, please stop by and say hello to all of our sponsors and thank them for their support.

This will be my last year as your Chairman and I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last few years. It has been a privilege and I have enjoyed working with all of the board members throughout the year. We, your board, meet 6 to 7 times during the year to discuss next year’s event. We also spend countless hours of e-mails and phone calls to one
another. In closing, I would again like to thank all of the board members for their time and devotion to the largest gathering of GB Owners in the world and truly a great event.

Please, everyone send in your registrations as soon as you can, this helps
us and Roche Harbor to prepare.
Kind Regards,

Greg RichmondN -Rendezvous Chairperson
